I'm not convinced that I fully like my edit on this one, but I'm tired and wanted to get my pic uploaded today. I used Paint the Moon's Vanilla pop action after adjusting the exposure, etc. in Adobe Raw. I'm not knocking her action ... just not sure I like it on this photo.
The story about the orchid ... Doug and I went out to dinner last night. Our kids go to church from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday nights for Bible Quizzing, dinner, then Kids 4 Truth. He happened to have yesterday off (between shifts), so we decided we would take advantage of the kid-free time. We ate out then went to Lowe's to pick up a furnace filter. Exciting, I know. :) While there, they had orchids for sale. The tag on them says they are easy to care for, which is right up my alley, so I got one. I needed a little color in my life since we are in the midst of all this colorless snow. Surrounded by white. And to hold me over until spring flowers start to bloom. Today my new friend and I had a little photo session. We'll see how long it takes me to kill it. :)
Here's the SOOC version in case you are interested ...
It is a bit gray even with a custom white balance setting.
