As of July 1 I began posting my daily photos over at my main blog, A Fresh Perspective.
I found the need to eliminate one blog, and since this one came second, this is the one.
I hope you will choose to join me over at A Fresh Perspective for daily photos, photo challenges,
and some other fun stuff thrown in.

Week 25 Summary

Week-25-Collage
Okay, so I'm waaaaay off schedule this week.  The trip to Boston this weekend has my days all messed up.  And I'm still pretty tired from being in a van for about 28 hours over a 3 day stretch.  If I never see the inside of that church van again, it will be soon enough.  :)

But the kids all did great in Bible Quizzing.  We came home with a gold, a silver, and a bronze medal.  Congrats Rachel, Keira, and Lexi!

Anyway, here's what last week looked like ... in pictures ...
19 - A milkweed beetle - taken with the help of my 10X macro filter.
20 - Muddy-faced kids.  I told them I'd let them get all muddy if they'd let me photograph them all together.  :)
22 - A juvenile Robin that the kids caught then set free.
23 - Honey had her first visit to the groomer's.  She came home so pretty and fuzzy.  :)
24 - The hills/mountains of Pennsylvania ... taken out the van window on our way to Boston.
25 - Quincy Bay, Massachusetts.  We had time before our girls started quizzing and the beach was only a few blocks from the college where the quiz was taking place, so we walked over to put our toes in the sand/ocean.

Sometimes the only way to get the three of them together for a photo is to let them get muddy first.

Just for fun, I'm entering this in the I {heart} Faces "For the boys" challenge.

I'm semi-cheating today.  Being the 13th of the month, I'm supposed to feature a photo of Nick that I took today.  However, I forgot that I was supposed to take his picture until about 8:30 this evening and by that time it was getting dark.  I took a few but they ended up blurry from such a slow shutter speed (even with ISO 1600).  So instead of showing one of the blurry ones, I'm posting a photo I took just a few days ago of Nick enjoying one of the fresh-picked strawberries from a neighbor's garden.  His eyes just make me melt.  And how sweet are those little freckles across his nose?  :)

Nick and Keira on their last day of school.  This was Keira's last day at this school as she will be moving on to the Jr. High in the fall.  *sniff sniff*  And Nick will be moving up to 3rd grade.  I'm so proud of both of them!
(Keira's shirt is blurred because it has her school's name on it.)

My boys are always finding some critter to show me.  This morning when I returned from my run, Nick was so excited to show me a toad.  Apparently the dog tried to eat him, but realized that toads don't taste very good and spit him out.  Which is a good thing because I read that toads can make dogs really sick.  Oh, and Nick's hand is so dirty because he's been digging for worms all morning since we're going fishing later.  Besides, aren't all little boy's hand dirty?  :)

OOPS!  I forgot about taking/posting a picture of Nicholas yesterday (the 13th of the month).  Guess my strep throat affected my memory also.  :)  So here he is today.  Except this photo was actually taken on Tuesday.  He needed a pic of the two of us together for a school project and while I had the camera out, he asked me to photograph him on this cruddy old skateboard he found along the road last summer.  He cracks me up with his peace signs and his poses.

The family got together today to celebrate Nick's 8th birthday.  He got some fun gifts and we ate lunch with cupcakes for dessert.  Nothing fancy, but lots of fun!

Today is Nick's 8th birthday!  Where did the time go?!
When I asked him if I could take a few photos of him, I mostly got poses like this.  But, then, again, that is his personality.  Fun and silly.  And a bit goofy.  :)

Nicholas and Keira participated in the Bible Quizzing District Finals this morning.  Nicholas got a bronze medal and Keira got a gold.  She also qualified to move on to the Regionals in Boston in June!
I realize you can't quite see Keira's trophy in this photo, but I absolutely love the way they are looking at each other.  I always have a difficult time getting a picture of the kids when they are all looking at me and not making some goofy face, so I'll take what I can get.  :)
I forgot to mention that Nicholas is not, in fact, taller than Keira.  He is standing on our water well thingy that sticks up about 18 inches out of the ground.  :)

I have decided to try really hard to take a photo of each of my children on the anniversary of their birthday each month.  As long as they will let me.  :)
Nicholas will be turning 8 years old on April 13, one month from today.  Where did the time go?!

Entering this in Faith's Macro photo challenge.  I don't actually have a macro lens, but I hope a close up counts too.  :)

How cool is that?!  Thanks, Faith!
